How to burn 1000 calories…

By July 17, 2017 No Comments

Word on the street is that Raw is getting insane results…and you’ve heard correctly! Right across Brisbane, we are shredding bodies, building lean, fit physiques and dramatically increasing fitness levels. In fact, the result have now coined the term ‘The Raw Effect’!

Scientifically proven as the most effective way to shred fat – fast, every Raw session incorporates high intensity interval training (HIIT), paired with resistance work, core strengthening, primal movement and metabolic conditioning (aka we get you freaking fit). We are true believers that if you want to look like an athlete, you’ve gotta train like one!

But how much exactly do you burn in one session? Whilst this is difficult to say specifically as every body is different, it’s safe to say you burn BIG.

In fact, we started tracking specific Raw Athletes (participants) in our Sunday 90min Cardio/Strength/Core class to test this theory. The results were outstanding:

Taken from her FitBit tracking device, this Raw Athlete’s stats show just over 1,000 calories were burned throughout the session. Further her body remained in the ‘fat burn’ (aka after burn) zone until 8pm the same evening!

What is the After Burn?

Otherwise know as Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption, or EPOC, the after burn effect is an increase in metabolic function following strenuous exercise, increasing your metabolism and causing your body to burn more calories throughout the rest of the day.

This particular Athlete’s BMR (base metabolic rate – or what she burns just from being alive) is 1,500 calories. Notice her daily burn has now doubled, thanks to her morning Raw session and the after burn effect as a result of it.

Are you ready to experience the Raw Effect? Warning: you’ll be hooked…
